Familiar landmarks to you while traveling
59Landmarks we look for
Looking for milestones
While traveling on short but out of state trips, we look for familiar spots, signs and other things that will show our progress to the destination we are going. This 4th of July week end, we had the opportunity to visit with two dear grandchildren that used to live with us for a few years. They made their annual visit with their dad that lives in the state we had all lived together in. We are always delighted when the invitation is given telling us to come visit with them while they are there. It is a very tiring trip, but well worth the few short hours we get to be with them. They are growing up so fast and we are missing so much of their lives.
They live in Maine with their mother, step dad and two new sisters. One of the sisters we have yet to meet as she was born in January and we haven't made it to Maine since October of 2008. We are looking forward to seeing them when we travel to Maine for a family reunion at the end of summer. It won't be enough time to catch up with so much time missed, but we will enjoy what we can get when we can get it! As of March, we have 18 grandchildren and two we haven't seen. It will be a very exciting trip to say the least. With tons of pictures taken for memories.

I too have grown children living far away. I have a son, Brad in Upstate New York who we haven't seen in 3 years! My daughter, Allie, and her husband and their 2 kids live in Tallahassee (only 5 hours away) but haven't seen them since last April. My youngest son, Matthew, spent a week here just after New Years. (he came to us!) It just costs too much to travel like we used to. Hope you are healthy, God bless, Susieq42 (I clicked on your link to your blog and this is where it took me.)
