Amazing Ritual of Lizards
Looking out my kitchen window on day, a couple of lizards were mating on the handle of a rake my husband left outside. This ritual was so intense, I was able to take many photos of them. All they did was rotate around the handle as they noticed me. I just went around a tree to take more photos on the other side that they went on.
Notice that the female lizard has a darker shade to her while the male lizard stays light green. I was wondering if it was because it was so intent on what he was doing his sensed didn't warn him.
This went on for several minutes. When they finished mating, the female immediately scurried away. The male lizard went to the top of the handle, then quickly descended part way and seemed to gloat. He kept bloating the throat area and deflating. I know that isn't the official wording of the action but I am no scientist just an everyday person taking note. These little creatures are so interesting to watch.

That is hysterical! I love your caption "Male showing triumph"! He certainly was! But on a rake handle? LOL
