Vacationing In The Mountains

I've been away for a week, but back now! We went for our yearly week at our timeshare at Massanutten Hillside Villas. We have been going there about 6 years now. It is a beautiful area with a vast variety of things to do.

The wildlife roam the mountainside unconcerned about the humans because they are protected. I love to watch them and always amazed with the beauty. The herds of deer show up about dusk especially on the golf courses and graze. Each year I take many photos of the site. Last year I started feeding them bits of bread. One came and ate from my hand. I can't discribe the feeling it was so delicate. This year it was windy and they were to jumpy to get that close.

Hubby took the photos of me feeding them but they didn't come out well. But you can get the concept of how close they came to me. There was a lady at the next unit talking on her cell phone on the deck that startled them.

It is very beautiful there. And the wildlife is quite amazing. The last time we were there we watched the deer play right outside of the Fareways Restaurant window. They put on quite a show!

We are headed for our yearly week there in a couple of weeks. The wildlife is my greatest joy.

Lovely hub! I can feel your pleasure!

I just came back from the East Coast of Canada, went to see the celtic colours and they were lovely. The Cabot Trail is probably not as big as your Blue Ridge Mountains but very vast just the same.

I suggest you and your husband live each and every day fully. The kids will come around.Just call them even for a few moments each time.It keeps the lines open for when they decide to wake up.Your creative arts and a good husband will keep you going.

I just lost my husband this summer and maybe I'm crazy, but I would give up even grandchildren to have that not have happened. It's a good thing we're not in control I guess.

Good luck.Good hubbing.
